Responsible for a variety of product research and development activities. Provides technical support to operations and sales teams, documents ongoing projects, and evaluates customer complaints. Leads the company efforts to develop state of the art products to meet future market needs. Responsible for identifying, developing and directing the implementation of technology needs globally. Responsible for supervising third party lab work and various manufacturing duties in accordance with the CTO directive. Reports to the Executive VP & Chief Technology Officer.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Five years related experience as an Operations Director or Research Engineer. Five years of experience in an international oil & gas company is required and must include: Thermoplastic liner technologies for high pressure high temperature (HPHT) wells, coating technologies for well tubulars, & high strength steels for oil industry tubulars; designing state of the art testing program unique to thermoplastic liners in downhole conditions; developing, testing & qualification of high performance thermoplastics for use as liners in production tubing in high pressure high temperature environment; well design, drilling and completion experience utilized for thermoplastic lined tubing development; oil & gas research and development experience through conducting and overseeing research into the structures and properties of materials, such as metals, alloys, polymers, cements, and coatings to determine their utility for new systems/applications or to enhance existing ones; and experience working with engineering thermoplastics in downhole oil & gas applications. 40% travel required both domestic and international.
